Steve Lilly is an award-winning artist from Birmingham. His wonderful pencil artwork is now becoming very collectable, with many of his works in private collections worldwide. Steve has created a very large and varied portfolio of work from TV comedy classic series, comedy and horror films, icons of film, TV and pop idols as well as nature and animal studies. As a consequence of his remarkable artwork, his work in now featured and showcased in numerous museums and fan clubs. He is official artist for the Dad’s Army Museum, and his artwork is featured in the Laurel and Hardy Museum, Black Country Living Museum, Talking Pictures TV, The Grand Order of Water Rats, On the Buses fan club and The Tony Hancock Appreciation Society to name but a few.
With over 30 years experience his unique pencil artwork is created with meticulous attention to detail and is built up over many hours by blending layers of finely laid pencil. The beauty of a graphite portrait lies in the depth of tone and contrast, achievable by using varying grades of pencil and differing pressures of application. It is the ideal medium for expressing texture and detail.
Steve’s collection of signed limited edition giclée prints produced on acid free archival paper, enable his work to be more affordable and available to a wider audience.
