Alex McGarry

Focusing on British Wildlife and farm animals, the hugely talented and award-winning artist Alex McGarry is quickly establishing herself as "one to watch" and very collectable. She has recently been voted ‘Best Up and Coming Artist, 2019’ by the Fine Art Trade Guild.
Her clever combination of traditional oil painting techniques and a contemporary composition means her work can look great in any room.
Alex’s career as an artist started off as an Interior Designer for new homes. It was this that led her to creating all the paintings for show homes for a major UK house builder. She has designed logos for Ma Maison Interiors and the prestigious Marwell International Wildlife Art Society (MIWAS). She has also won several awards, including best in show: chosen by the general public, at Mottisfont Abbey, Hampshire, from over 200 exhibits.
The McGarry name is synonymous with wildlife art – Alex’s father, Pip McGarry is one of the most respected painters of African wildlife in the world.
At nine years old Alex begged her dad to set her up with some oil paints and brushes so that she could be a proper artist. He made her a little easel and gave her the brushes and paints – the rest as they say is history. Alex still has that very first oil painting at home, a painting of a baby deer.
Now her work can also be found in galleries across the UK and she is following her father Pip McGarry’s footsteps to a very successful career in the art world.
